Tahir is a prayer companion app for iPhone. It's built so your worship stays between you and Allah: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data. This policy explains the little information that does leave your phone, and why.
What stays on your phone
- Your prayer and Tahajjud logs, streaks and statistics
- Your settings, including your prayer time calculation method and reminder choices
This information is stored only on your device. We have no servers and no copy of it. Deleting the app deletes it.
Location
Tahir uses your location to work out prayer times and the Qibla direction.
- Prayer times: your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km) is sent to the Aladhan prayer times service, together with your chosen calculation method. No name, account or device identifier is sent with it. Aladhan's own privacy practices apply to that request.
- Qibla: worked out on your phone. Nothing is sent.
You can turn location off at any time in iOS Settings. Tahir will then use the last location it knew, or a default city.
Notifications
Prayer, follow-up and Tahajjud reminders are scheduled on your phone. No notification service or server is involved.
Feedback
If you choose to send feedback, Tahir opens a Google Form in your browser. Anything you submit there, including an email address if you add one, is shared with us through Google Forms and used only to improve the app. Google's privacy policy applies to the form.
Children
Tahir has no accounts and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
